Meet our Cool Gurus

"Hi, I'm Dr. Rakhi Gera Bhandari, Founder of GuruCool.
I'm from India and i have been living in Budapest for 8 years. Going by my academics, I'm a Dentist turned Financial Analyst turned Entrepreneur. My vision for an after school program is to offer unique skills to children that will support the much required social and emotional development for their future and have meaningful participation by parents in their children's development. Being a mother of a teen gave me a closer perspective to what is lacking in the classic education system and how can we contribute to the society by raising responsible, emotionally intelligent children."

"Hi, I'm Réka Somodi, Puppetry Teacher at GuruCool. I studied puppetry at Kolibri Theatre for Children and Youth’s Dayka Margit Studio. After gaining experience as a puppeteer in Hungary, where I worked at Vaskakas Babszinhaz in Gyor, my passion drove me to move to London. I spent 7 years in London where I studied puppetry at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, performed and expanded my skills as a puppeteer through international shows and workshops. Puppetry was also a tool I turned to whilst working in education to teach neurotypical and SEN children as well. To sharpen my skills in facilitation, I recently completed an MA in Applied Theatre at Goldsmiths, University London. Now that I am back in Hungary, I am delighted to be a part of the GuruCool Team and to introduce the magical world of puppetry to children and youth!"
